Magic is Transcendence

Here are the ingredients to being a magic worker:

1. Acceptance of what is, as it is.

2. Acknowledgement of current limitations and restrictions.

3. The invocation of life force and vision that allows the traversing around, above, and through present circumstances.

You’ll find that all magic uses these three principles. Whether it’s intentional manifestation, prayer, or the fantastical kind of magic we see in movies and storybooks.

Let’s talk about You. Your spirit, your presence, your existence here on Earth.

There is the smaller You and the bigger You. Most of the time you’re in the small. [Focused on certain specifics, from a narrower point of view.]

Every now and then you snap into the bigger You, mostly in “emergency” moments. Or if you’ve temporarily lost your ego/your personal identity.

If you stay in the larger perspective, you would lose the ability to have a specific, detailed life that makes you feel things and compels thought and action from you.

If you stay in the narrower perspective, your life would feel like a small, shadowy prison.

And so, back and forth we go. And when we’re really mastering things, we find that perfect spot in the in-between.

Your larger self is experiencing life, just like “you” are, in your more identity-focused perspective.

It wants you to live here and be here, so that it can live and be here too.

How would that larger part of you respond to problems in life? Let’s call that aspect your Higher Consciousness.

That part would, in many cases, reach out to the collective web of all Higher Consciousness. It would say something like, “Oh hey. Look at what’s happening over here. My small is struggling with this thing. What do you think about it?”

This would open the vision and intention of the All that is experiencing this world and this life.

And with that very wide and all inclusive vision, an answer would come.

What do answers from the collective consciousness look like?

What is at the essence of “solution”?

Imagine looking from a birds eye view at a seemingly impossible maze. To solve the maze, you would not step inside of it. You would want that higher perspective to see which paths and turns lead to the exit.

The collective “points” to a path of easy flow. It illuminates the path of movement.

It doesn’t look into the problem, only to where your path would flow towards freedom from the problem.

What does illumination look like?

Illumination involves less preoccupation with problem or struggle. It has the aspects of spaciousness, release, and breath.

Upon communing with the collective, your personal Higher Consciousness would instantly know the path to alleviating your struggle.

It cannot come to you in your smaller mind (except in very rare circumstances), so you have to relax and raise your consciousness to get closer to that larger mind.

Things that help:

Breath

Releasing tension

Pausing any problem solving or “digging” for a solution

Spending time in nature; contemplating the sky

You might think these things are silly. You might think that you need a path and a solution that feel just as tight and intense as the problem.

Fighting might with might.

This is not true.

In the same way that you cannot undo a knot by adding more knots. You must call to yourself the path of opening. The path of untying.

We cannot care too much about the struggle, because we have to care more about the freedom from that struggle.

You see?

The focus on freedom, well being, strength and breath has to be more pronounced than on their opposites.

This is magic.

Combining these 3 principles can be tricky. To accept what is, as it is can be very difficult for the parts of you that feel greatly and are invested in the detailed aspects of this life.

Acknowledging your own limitations and restrictions, and those of others as well as your environment sometimes calls forward the shadow.

That part that denies or resists out of self-protection and old programming.

There is always limitation and restriction, it’s part of what shapes life. It’s not always a bad thing or a hindrance, but it is something that must be acknowledged.

Magic is, looking at darkness or struggle directly in the face. And saying, “ok I see you”. To know that at your current state, certain restrictions or limitations do not allow for instant change.

In this state of acceptance, you summon a different kind of strength. You say, I don’t need to hide from any aspect of myself. I accept all of me.

In this state of openness and truth, you allow yourself to see the path of flow. The path doesn’t discriminate against any parts of You. It says, I see where we are. I see where we need to go.

It transcends (glides above and around) that which is unmoving. So there’s no need to worry. No need to nitpick your personality or problem solving skills or anything about you or your environment.

Magic always transcends.

And when you are “performing magic”, you are saying, I’m willing to flow with the path of solution. I’m willing to glide where life’s breath is gliding. I allow myself to flow with the highest good.

This is why we have the archetypes of devils and the angels. The “devil” is the tendency to keep focusing on the problem. Focusing on the “dark” – which just means you’re not looking to where the solution is already illuminated for you.

The angels point you in the direction of better feeling emotions and thoughts; it is the choice you make to look “up”. Meaning, to allow yourself to transcend the problem and see better outcomes for yourself.

No one is better or worst than anyone else. We are all dark-workers and light-workers in our lives and the lives of others. We just don’t think it’s a “big deal” to focus on misery.

And sometimes looking towards transcendence seems too ethereal, too abstract, not important enough.

But we all have the potential to be magic-workers. And in this way, we accept the dark, acknowledge our limitations, and call out for the path of flow. Navigating through our own choice, how long it is we spend nurturing the dark and how long we spend rising towards the light.

It’s good to remember that we’re all “figuring out” life together. It’s an active, ongoing process of discovery. You were never meant to know everything all the time.

You were meant to ask, to be curious, to apply the light of consciousness into a seemingly mundane and concrete world.

Remember that your soul (higher consciousness) is also asking on your behalf. You are not in this alone.

You are blessed, you are worthy, you are loved.

I have over 18 years of experience doing intuitive readings. I've done extensive research into metaphysics, the occult, and faith based religions. I regularly practice meditation and kirtan (devotional yoga). I acknowledge that our lives are made of the seen and the unseen and that Truth is a moving target. I can say only a few things with great conviction after all I have lived. One, life ebbs and flows and it is always up to you to come back into your light. Use every resource you can! Two, the source of all things is light and freedom. You are free to believe whatever you choose to believe, only you can convince or disprove your own ideas. Three, we are dynamic, enigmatic beings. Though society would like us to stay in certain boxes, the truth is we can't. I am so much more than a reader. I live my life with robust joy and great curiosity. Four, I have always been in touch with something that is beyond our conventional ideas of life. I always felt something beyond my five senses. There is a part of me that relishes in diving into the depths of existence. Into those lighter layers of perception. I like feeling where the flow of life is moving. And I truly enjoy doing it with others. Lastly, I am a lover at the core of my being. I love devotional practice. I love adoring the world and everything in it. I seek to shine my light wherever I go. Of course we experience hard times, I just make the absolute most out of all the other times.
